By the time you finish reading the book, Gone Girl will leave you shaken and devastated and let hope in love go out of the window. You will forget dating or even trusting your partner or maybe never marry. This is the strong impact this masterpiece leaves on the minds of the reader.

You will not be able to decide whether you love the characters or hate them! Amy and Nick were one of the most passionate couples you will ever come across, they had a very promising future as married couple, and married they were. They stuck with each other through thick and thin. Amy was a successful writer; a child prodigy, while Nick was a professor in English. Their married life though rocky at times  finally came to an end when Nick had to go back to his ailing mother along with Amy who was not so happy with the move, yet sacrificed her happiness for Nick. Just when you thought things would get better in a small town, Amy found out Nick was cheating on her and so the great game began!

Gone Girl centers its story about Nick and Amy Dunne’s strained marriage relationship. Nick used to work as a journalist, but loses his job. With his broke financial status, Nick decides to relocate from New York City to his smaller home town, North Carthage. In an attempt of recovering from his financial deprivations, Nick opens a bar using the money from his wife. Nick runs the bar along with his twin sister Margo, providing a decent living for his family. But, as they days go by, his marriage with Amy is falling apart slowly. Amy resents her new life.
